How long does sunscreen remain effective?

I have a waterproof sunscreen from last summer that I wear in the pool. I have most of a bottle left. Would it still be good?

It should say on the bottle, side of the lid or stamped on the label. To get a factual answer ask in the chemist or pharmacist. (if it’s the colour, smell and consistency as it was last year then it’s probably good)
